Palm Beach Dramaworks Hosts "Hard Hat Tour" of New Theatre Facility, Thursday July 28th!
West Palm Beach's only resident professional theatre, Palm Beach Dramaworks, will host a special "hard hat tour" of its new theatre facility for members of the press and VIPs on Thursday, July 28th, at 12 noon. The theatre is located at 201 Clematis Street, West Palm Beach. This invitation-only event includes a construction site tour and remarks thanking those who contributed to the development of the theatre. "Our move to Clematis Street is a landmark occasion for our thriving organization, and we are grateful for the City's firm commitment and dedication to the Arts, recognizing it as a vital component to the economic and social health of our community," stated Dramaworks' Producing Artistic Director William Hayes. Palm Beach Dramaworks' new theatre facility is in the mid-stages of renovation, with completion and gala opening scheduled for November 11, 2011. This public/not-for-profit partnership is a unique project: West Palm Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) purchased the landmark Cuillo Centre for the Arts, and entered into a long-term lease agreement with Palm Beach Dramaworks. Originally opened in 1999, the former Cuillo theatre occupies a distinctive location on Clematis Street and defines a gateway to the newly established waterfront and West Palm's restored downtown. Highlights of the venue tour will include: the newly reconfigured auditorium chamber with seating capacity of 218, the multi-use black box theatre space, the newly designed administration offices and costume shop. There will also be a new lobby bar featuring gourmet snacks, coffee, beer and wine. Space is limited for the tour, and an RSVP is required. Participants must wear pants and closed-toe shoes, and high heel shoes are not allowed. If you are interested in participating, contact Peter Cromarty at email@example.com or 561-233-9918 by 5PM on Monday, July 25th.
