Vanessa is a New York-based director, actor, and ethicist. Directing credits include Imogen (aka Cymbeline), Equivocation (American Shakespeare Center); all-female Othello (Harlem Shakespeare Festival, Southwest Shakespeare Company); Henry VI Part I (Colorado Shakespeare Festival); Macbeth (The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey), Boeing Boeing (Fordham University); Pericles, Troilus and Cressida (Mary Baldwin University). Upcoming directing projects: As You Like It (Gateway Playhouse); Dance Nation (RedHouse Arts Center). Associate Director: Hold These Truths (New York’s Sheen Center, Barrington Stage, The Historic Theatre at Vancouver’s the Cultch). Choreography credits include Worth of Water (Off-Broadway), Dancing Lessons, One Man, Two Guvnors (Florida Studio Theatre); Henry VIII, The Merry Wives of Windsor (Alabama Shakespeare Festival); Much Ado About Nothing (Colorado Shakespeare Festival); Romeo and Juliet, ‘Tis Pity She’s a Whore, The Duchess of Malfi (American Shakespeare Center). Vanessa has been seen onstage in South Florida in Arcadia and The House of Blue Leaves (PBD), and Frost/Nixon and Disgraced (Maltz Jupiter Theatre). She also designs and delivers training programs using the tools of interactive drama to address issues of unconscious bias and equity, diversity, and inclusion for national and international corporations. Vanessa is member of SDC, AEA, and the League of Professional Theatre Women.
