Bio

Tom Lubben

Tom Lubben

TOM LUBBEN from West Palm Beach, plays fiddle, accordion, mandolin, and harmonica in The Lubben Brothers, his family's folk band. Growing up in rural Iowa, Tom developed a relationship with the wilderness that has become a vast inspiration to his artistic output, influencing him to begin writing poetry and short fiction. He has been published in several academic journals, including Catfish Creek (Loras College), The Quaker (Malone University), Living Waters Review (Palm Beach Atlantic University), and The Rectangle (Sigma Tau Delta, National English Honors Society). Recently, Tom wrote the book to the musical The Luck of Roaring Camp, based on the story by Bret Harte, and his brothers Michael and Joshua composed the songs and underscoring. The show premiered in October at Palm Beach Atlantic University, the brothers' alma mater. Ultimately, Tom attributes his love of music and words to the God who created them, and who spun stories, songs, and meaning into all things.
