KATIE LUBBEN hails from the Florida old country of High Springs, bringing a modest dose of Southern charm wherever she goes. Her love of music began when she started studying violin at age 5. In high school, she taught herself piano, then guitar, and finally bass guitar. There was something about a deep, low-end groove that resonated with her, so she pursued learning the upright bass as well. As her passion for music grew, Katie's love of other art forms grew simultaneously. She began pursuing graphic design, marketing, and photography. She received a BA in graphic design, with a minor in music, from Palm Beach Atlantic University in May of 2017. In addition to her Bachelor's, she also received an "MRS" degree – she met Joshua Lubben during their freshman year and they tied the knot before junior year. Upon graduating, she launched her own business, Katie Lubben Photography, and started her career in marketing with The Lubben Brothers folk band. But Katie's relentless love of music has always kept her in the field, and she is grateful to be at PBD performing alongside her husband. Katie is also excited to be playing her favorite instrument, the electric upright bass, and her faithful companion, the violin.
