Craig D. Ames
July 2012 · Craig is a composer, pianist, and musical director living in Boca Raton, Florida, and has won four Carbonell Awards for his work as a musical director. Craig is also the recipient of the Palm Beach Cultural Council's Clyde Fyfe Award for his work in bringing the arts to the community in Palm Beach County. His principal studies have been in classical piano with Russian pianist Zhanna Dawson at the Univ. of Wisconsin, and French pianist Philippe Drevet here in So. Florida and in France. In 2011 Craig received a fellowship from the Gilder Lehrman Institute to study his other love, Early American History, at Yale Univ. with Prof. Emeritus and author John DeMoss.
In addition to serving as an educator in South Florida, Craig is the pianist for the First United Methodist Church of Boca Raton, and serves on the Board of Directors of the Randolph A. Frank Prize for the Performing Arts.
Craig D. Ames has been a music director for three productions at Palm Beach Dramaworks since 2004.
