New Bridges Fest connects new voices
to new places, people and opportunities.
New Bridges Fest joins the resources of two
not-for-profit organizations and builds bridges for
emerging playwrights, linking select dramatists
from across the country with other veteran
artists, producers and professionals, who can
influence and foster their promising careers. The
program provides multiple venues for these
writers to develop their work and to introduce
theater audiences to the process of new play
development.
Aspen Theater Masters, based in
Aspen, Colorado, is a producing and presenting
not-for-profit organization, dedicated to
nurturing, developing, and producing, or causing
to be produced, the work of the next generation
of American playwrights, bringing distinguished
theater professionals and productions to the
Roaring Fork Valley, enriching the quality of
theater education, and enhancing audience
understanding of, and support for, theater.
Julia Hansen, former President of the Drama League of New York,
is Theater Masters' founder and Artistic Director.
Palm Beach Dramaworks is a
professional theater company that is committed
to presenting high quality, seldom produced,
classic and contemporary plays, and to exposing
new works that have relevance in today's
society. Palm Beach
Dramaworks continues to challenge audiences
with theatre to think about by producing timeless
and provocative productions. The organization
has been recognized by the South Florida Critics
Association with 50 Carbonell Award nominations
and eight of the impressive awards, and has been
named "Best Theatre Company" by both City Link
Magazine and New Times Magazine.
