Note from the Chairman February 2010

Wow! What a terrific start to the 2009-2010 season! Our wonderful Artistic Director, Bill Hayes, kicked things off with a mesmerizing production of Henrik Ibsen's A Doll's House. Our patrons responded most enthusiastically and ticket sales were extremely strong. Resident director J. Barry Lewis then directed an absolute blockbuster production of Copenhagen. For this outstanding production, Barry and Palm Beach Dramaworks were once again deservedly recognized in the Wall Street Journal (in fact, our organization was mentioned in that publication as one of the best theatre experiences of 2009). Copenhagen once again set an entirely new record for ticket sales, with numerous additional performances added during the run.

What is, perhaps, even more exciting is that much of this dynamic season remains in front of us. Even before this production of American Buffalo opened, so many of our patrons enjoyed the works of David Mamet through our Master Playwright Series. Attendance at that series continues to blossom as well (much to the delight of this Executive Producer). Please be on the lookout for this year's exciting final installment, Noel Coward, coming this May!

As always, everything discussed above, and all that we do, is only made possible because of your strong support. Thank you for enabling Palm Beach Dramaworks to continue to grow and prosper. Many exciting developments lie ahead. If there is anything that any of us can do to make your experience even more enjoyable, please do not hesitate to let us know!

Sincerely,

Mark Perlberg
