We've just concluded an acclaimed and much
celebrated 10th Anniversary Season here at Palm
Beach Dramaworks, thanks to our talented local and
visiting artists, exceptional production team and
administrative staff, and, of course, you, our devoted
patron.
Attendance was at an all time high and every
production broke box office records. Indeed, most
performances sold out, and countless non subscriber
patrons and newcomers were "wait listed", and
unfortunately many of them were eventually turned away. Although we
continue to try new solutions to accommodate our ever-increasing audience
base, this dilemma is becoming an ongoing issue for individual ticket buyers.
This simple fact is, if one waits to purchase individual show tickets, there is
seldom availability because most performances sell out. My recommendation
is, if you want more of what you experience today, secure your seat by
becoming a subscriber. It is not too late...yet.
Palm Beach Dramaworks is addressing the matter, our Board of Directors and
staff have are working in conjunction with Mayor Frankel and the City of West
Palm Beach to identify and secure a downtown location for a new PBD home.
We remain convinced, determined and confident that good news is on the
horizon.
For now, sit back and escape the summer doldrums, and enjoy D. L. Coburn's
Pulitzer Prize winning play, The Gin Game. We hope you'll return in the Fall
for our 11th Anniversary Season. Don't miss our popular Master Playwright Series, examining the life, work and contributions of the world's great
playwrights, highlighting next season George Bernard Shaw, August
Strindberg, and August Wilson.
Thank you for your continued patronage and generosity. Please enjoy your
summer, and we hope to see you in the fall.
Sincerely,
William Hayes
