...began his career in the arts as a member of the New York City Ballet under the leadership of its legendary founder, George Balanchine, and was later mentored by Balanchine as a photographer, which led to a luminous career as one of the most revered image makers of dance in our time. His work continues to appear world-wide in major publications, films, documentaries, exhibitions and private collections. Mr. Caras has also worked with Miami City Ballet and Ballet Florida where he trained, rehearsed and photographed the dancers. From 2003 through 2006, he served as Miami City Ballet's Palm Beach County Director of Development. Mr. Caras is also a guest lecturer on dance and can be heard throughout the season as a featured speaker at The Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts.
