...continues his five year association with Palm Beach Dramaworks and now serves as the theatre's Resident Director. At Dramaworks he directed No Exit, The Chairs, The Boys Next Door, That Championship Season, Berlin to Broadway with Kurt Weill, Side by Side by Sondheim, The Fourth Wall, Benefactors, Souvenir, and the award winning Jacques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in Paris. He continues to direct at other South Florida theatres including the Maltz Jupiter Theatre and the Riverside Theatre.
A three-time recipient of the Carbonell Award, as well as the Curtain-Up Award for his direction, Barry also served as the Festival Artistic Coordinator of the City Theatre Summer Shorts Festival of Ten Minute Plays in Coral Gables, and while Associate Artistic Director at Florida Stage, he directed over 30 productions. Barry presently serves as a Cultural Officer for the U.S. State Department, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, in Washington, D.C., and is a recipient of the Theatre League of South Florida's 2005 Remy Award for Leadership and Service to the Arts in South Florida. |
