William Hayes ...is co-founder of Palm Beach Dramaworks. Originally from Syracuse, Mr. Hayes has an extensive list of directing credits including such recent productions as Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? (5 Carbonell Award nominations, including Best Director and Best Play), The Price, The Subject Was Roses, Agnes of God, A Moon for the Misbegotten, and the 2009 acclaimed production of Edward Albee's At Home at the Zoo (Florida premiere). He is a thirty year veteran stage actor; most recent roles include Cradeau in No Exit, and Norman in The Dresser (Curtain Up Award, Carbonell Award nomination, Best Actor). Also a playwright, he is the recipient of the Charles M. Getchell Award, a member of the Dramatists Guild of America, served as a play writing adjudicator for the Southeastern Theatre Conference and the Samuel French OOB Festival. In Palm Beach County, he adjudicates the drama portion of the annual Pathfinders Awards sponsored by the Palm Beach Post, serves on the City of West Palm Beach Cultural Affairs Council, and is a member of the board of directors of the Economic Forum of Palm Beach County. Mr Hayes is Vice President of the Florida Professional Theatres Association.
